Rock and Roll

This is Rubislaw Quarry in Aberdeen, or rather what was the quarry. It opened in the 1740's and ceased production in 1971. it is 142 meters deep and 120 wide. Over it's life time it produced over 6 million tonnes of granite which built, not only the majority of the city, but also the City of London, Waterloo Bridge, the balcony of the Houses of Parliament and Sebastapool Docks
It is a beautiful place surrounded by flats and offices (great view from them.)
This was taken from the car park of one of the aparment blocks.
