Awaiting the flipper flapper of tiny fins

We went and picked out tiddler's birthday present today (10 days until the Big 5) and he had requested a fish tank.

He chose the tasteful castle and plastic coral, but I had to put my foot down over the hundreds and thousands gravel and compromised on blue. A beautiful moment in the queue when a total stranger (male) told tiddler that he should listen as mummy was right (you see even strangers know that so why don't the boys?!)

We've filled it up and put the chemicals in and its all plugged in to go - a week to wait before our first fish can take up residence and I think it needs a little green something in it to balance the madness.

I also need to buy a gravel/poo vacuum to help with the cleaning out and am also deliberating whether to be tropical or not - any opinions welcome.

Expect some fishy blips soon - can't wait for the naming ceremony.
