How to Get Dirty Looks In The Grocery Store
Ahh flowers.......I love flowers. Anyone who has ever sat and flipped through all of my artwork would realize that a good 85-90 percent of it is devoted to flowers. There are photographs of flowers, lithographs of flowers, etchings of flowers, monoprints of flowers, paintings of flowers.....the other 10-15 percent tend to be portraits of friends (including a great many of Jonathan ....he's always been a remarkable sport.....and he's somewhat photogenic, and very patient, which doesn't hurt). I love that each flower, each petal, each stem is unique, and that even the same flower doesn't look the same for very long, flowers are just so soothing, so awesome. Most people that know me know that a flower (even a dandelion- and yes I am aware that they are weeds!) can make my day and completely turn it around. Flowers have some sort of power over me, and I can't seem to explain it.
I saw this rose in a bin in the grocery store and the florist didn't really appreciate my quest for artistic excellence. I really wanted to get a picture of the daffodils (daffodils, gerber daisies, gladiolas, and sunflowers are my absolute FAVORITES!) but they were not bloomed yet. Maybe I will sneak back in there later in the week when robo-florist isn't working.
