Cat and Cactus

Yesterday evening, as I confidently predicted in my last blip, was a great evening filled with newsy chat, eating, drinking and laughing. Thank you Liz and Philip for being such good dinner companions.

So good a night was it and so late did his Lordship and I get to bed that our idea of a very early bike ride to the coast which sounded so appealing yesterday was a complete non starter.

I blame the red wine and too much eating for feeling a tad 'liverish' when I wakened up. I like the sound of the word 'liverish'. It's a word his Lordship casually threw into a conversation last week, a word with which I imagine he's well acquainted having downed a fair few bottles of the red stuff over the years.

The feeling passed but too late for me to get enamoured of relinquishing the Sunday papers and donning cycling gear.

And so a morning of total torpor with this fortunate blip of a neighbour's moggy sitting looking out of the window while waiting for its owners to get out of bed.

But it's all go now and we're off out to help daughter #1 with some shopping.

PS The punishment I expect for yet another day of blue skies and sunshine is beginning to bother me.
