Up Tolbooth Wynd

Busy day doing lots of things that seem to need doing after one has been away enjoying oneself for three whole days; whilst DH journeyed across to Greenock on the west coast to cheer on Dunfermline Athletic (this also needed to be done!).

Late afternoon I went to an Ashtanga session and was fully engrossed in the practice and persuading my rather out-of-condition body to follow it. But at the end I found the news from the west - YES! More scenes of rejoicing here and here. So when D finally arrived back in Edinburgh we met up in the Beard and Cardigan for a couple of celebratory pints.

We arrived back in Leith but were astonished to find this no 10 bus apparently wedged in Tolbooth Wynd. Buses just don't/can't go up this little street and the no 10 is way off its route here anyway. The man on the left is the bus driver from the no 22 we had just got off at the bottom of the street, who stopped his own bus and is dashing up the street to see what's up. There still seem to be passengers on the bus. I don't suppose we shall ever find out what went on here - was the driver lost, inebriated, having a laugh, or did the pressure finally get to him?
Google street view is here.
