lonesome digger

An odd sort of day, had visitors coming so had to gut the house!! God hubbys room took two hours to clean he is such a magpie! Magazines, books, spanners, bits of computers! Mind you when he comes back from the Sneck, he will have a hairy canarey when he sees what has gone, tough!, then had to do the other room only to find when guests arrived they were one short so thats good as it means I will have a bed to sleep in. We only have three smallish rooms and #2 daughter is in the other one each weekend.
AFter all that I needed a shower as I was mocket from all the dang cleaning.

Then at 6pm I had to take a group up Dunad hill on a Gaelic expedition, then onto Temple Woods and finally to dinner at the Kilmartin hotel. Given that they knew the party of 7 was booked in for 8pm, it took them forever to serve, no aplolgy or anything, when one of the party challenged the waitress she said "well there are folks in the bar too needing service" still no such thing as sorry for the dealy! The meal when it finally did arrive was to say the least bland. The waitress was quick enough to come and ask us if "everthing was ok?" when all she got was mumbles and mutters she moved on.

When on when is the west of Scotland going to up its game in the hotel trade? Mind you having said that, yesterday my daughter and I were in the George hotel in Inveraray and it was like night and day in comparrison. Excellent service, excellent food and a very decent price, small wonder the place was hoaching. A consistently good hotel if you are in this neck of the woods.

Almost ready form y bed when I finish this glass of red

Have a good blip weekend all
View is of a lonly digger in Kilmartin, maybe he too gave up waiting for food!
