Top of the world
F and I had a brilliant day with friends at Battersea Park Zoo. It's a wonderful place where you can get really close to the animals, both domestic and exotic. It has a mouse house, so it was an instant hit with me. We watched tiny harvest mice climb stems of wheat with the agiility of tight-rope walkers. Amazing. We scratched the large, coarse ears of massive pot-bellied pigs and were squeaked at enthusiastically by a pair of otters. The meerkat enclosure was superb:
