Spent this morning at Lauren's fourth birthday party. It was at Church Farm in Ardley a mixed, high welfare, ecological and low carbon food and farming enterprise. A place for wildlife, beauty, diversity, community and people.

It was a lovely morning, helped by lovely weather. The kids (and some of the adults) were treated to a private trailer ride around the farm, stopping to feed the hens and the pigs. Carys was quite convinced they were the same pigs that covered her in mud back in October, I didn't tell her otherwise. They then ate party food and ran it off in the lovely wooded play area.

This afternoon Daddy pushed William in the buggy whiile I walked beside him, occasionally rescuing Carys from the heap of her bike as she fell off when turning to sharply or giving her a push start. I took this to add to mycollection. It was quite a lovely stress free afternoon, followed by early bath for the kids, tea and bed. William has hand, foot and mouth (or so I think) and feeling very sorry for himself, but it does explain the last two nights of very disturbed sleep. Yet again so thankful I am still nursing or he wouldn't be getting any nutrition as he is refusing to eat. He'll be better soon though.
