An early riser...

Normally we don't get to see Damselflies in the Garden until late May at the earliest... This chap first appeared yesterday and today I managed to get some decent shots of him.

So there we are, the first Damselfly of the year is a male Large Red Damselfly.

Expect some more Damselfly and Dragonfly blips over the Summer as we have Common Blue, Large Red and Blue Tailed Damselflies as well as Common Darters and Broad Bodied Chasers resident as well as other visiting species.
