Makin' Noodles
Being in China and all, it's quite common to find Chinese food places. They are many and varied and a imagine the local Chinese takeaway in most places doesn't really compare with the 'real' stuff. I suppose that is true for most places that aren't in their native land.
This is a place that sells noodles. They sell LOTS of noodles and make them fresh at the front counter for all and sundry to see. This guy was GREAT. He starts with a ball of dough and kneads and pushes and prods and then starts stretching. As they get thinner, he just doubles them over and stretches again to double the number of 'threads' and after a while they are the right size. A final slap on the counter to knock off the excess flour and they go straight into the pot.. Can't get them any fresher. I can't imagine how many batches he has made. The place where he works is in a very busy department store.
The pic isn't the best because a lady got in the way. But he was finished for a while and I had to go to get back to school.
