Bomb attack

These are my Moroccan slippers I bought five weeks ago on a trip to Marrakech.

Today I looked in horror at the news a remote-controlled nail bomb was detonated at a cafe there. As I looked at pictures of the wreckage I realised my friends and I had spent a couple of hours sat in that cafe eating ice cream and taking in the views of the Jamaa el-Fnaa it overlooks.

There are no words really. It has been branded senseless and deplorable by British ambassador Tim Morris and I guess that's how it seems to me too.

I saw Twitter comments flashing up shortly after the news broke. One lady wrote: "For the dead, I wish peace. For the wounded, I wish strength. For all of us, I wish justice."

I echo her sentiments.
