The Gerbera
Some facts:
1. Named after Traugott Gerber, a German doctor. Usually pronounced JUR-bra. Infrequently called Transvaal Daisy or Barberton Daisy.
2. There are over 200 varieties of gerbera and breeders have developed many variants from serrated or frilly petals to double flowers and extra wide petals.
3. Gerberas offer an incredibly wide range of colours with every colour except blues and greens
I didn't agree with fact 3 so I made my own. The Gerbera was actually orange.
This is another shot which I aim to spend more time on and give to the florists as part of the give me flowers for pictures deal!
Jules.
