Not in my comfort zone either...

After posting my first self portrait yesterday I thought I would try and continue trying to blip things outside of my comfort zone.

Now I wouldnt exactly say I am a pictures of flowers kind of guy so todays blip is perhaps keeping me outside my comfort zone. I say perhaps because as I looked at the vase of tulips all brightly lit by the kitchen neon lights I knew I really had to make a different kind of image.

So as you can see from image I didnt exactly go for the standard flowers in a vase kind of shot. In the kitchen in the dark uplighting the flowers... red tulips... are all tulips red? dunno... as I say flowers arent really my thing... as I was saying... uplighting the flowers with a flourescent camping lamp laying on its side, camera on a tripod and a largish white display board behind to stop the cluttered and messing kitchen getting in shot. Oh yeah and a little :-) bit of editing with some sliders in windows live photo gallery...

I was pleased with the results, though it may have been better if I took it into proper image manipulation tool so I could have sorted the overblown stems out.
