Colourful chappie

My first bird ( of the winged variety!)

have to say, don't like this Sigma 300 lens one bit. I think my earlier strategy of only buying excellent primes was way to go.

Anyway, any clues as to what this colourful fellow is? Pic taken in Ras Al Khaimeh, UAE. Seen a few of these though. They're our psychedelic sparrows, I guess
