Tall Tulips
I like this variety, long straight stems that don't droop over. And the deep red shade is beautiful. Pleased with the bokeh in the background. It's been a while since I took my 300mm out for a walk. Quite handy that my 50mm and 300mm are both 58mm diameter lenses, so I can interchange my screw on polarising filter.

In answer to yesterday's questions in the comments : it was also a tulip. Polarisers and positioning at 90 degrees to the sun - I recommend reading a chapter on the subject in Bryan Peterson's book "Understanding Exposure". He explains it very well. There is no doubt if you try it, you can see the difference immediately as you rotate the screw on filter.
Later edit - just noticed I blipped a tulip close up on this date last year.
