Look what came out of the egg!

This has to be the smallest baby rabbit I have ever seen. It was found kicked out of it's burrow a few days ago. Apparently the males do that sometimes when there are too many babies ( let that be a lesson to all of us!) It is now being hand reared in our classroom and is happy in its new home alongside the eggs that are waiting to hatch. Actually, the eggs are unfortunately not going to hatch as the light on the incubator went off over the weekend. A few days before hatching day they are going to be switched with some ready to hatch eggs, currently being looked after by the vet, a parent, so as not to upset the kids. They're blissfully unaware. However the combination of eggs and an egg sized baby rabbit is causing understandable confusion amongst the kids. They now think that baby rabbits come out of eggs! Oops!
