sheer
wishes to take portraits foiled (denied at the used bookstore counter). so a diffused setting sun shot through Liz's curtain was a success, I suppose. invited over after they all had class for the traditional family dinner and Arrested Development episodes. good laughs and good eats, to be sure, but always nice to be home in the quiet with Leah.
good mail day: got my Criterion order (400 Blows and Bicycle Thieves) from the generous birthday gift certificate from Ryoko (good mail day for her as well: she texted me saying she received my old-people-with-mobility-aids-series thank you framed pictures/card), the new New York Review of Books issue, and an intriguing invite to Rowdy and Becky's firepit/beer-drinking gathering next month (summer nights drinking beer outside with good friends--who apparently have an announcement--roasting marshmallows, this should be good!).
other miscellany:
interview for a part-time lab job tomorrow and tutoring for a couple hours at night.
thought this ten photo series in the New Yorker Photo Booth department was quite catching.
finally: too tired for a film screening tonight, perhaps, but last night's viewing of Teshigahara's Pitfall with Leah was sublime, the true meaning of couplehood. ah, and speaking of "film," here is a wee thing of Leah, edited to music, filming me while I tried out the new camera on her when we went to the park last week.
