Re-open
Recently, my favourite hang-out place / lepak (pronounced : lay - pak) place was closed down due to the fact that it will be moving to another ground. A much bigger ground.
The new grounds will only open on the 1st of March 2008. I love this place - Rasta & Coffee Hut. It's a nice cozy area where friends can get together and feel the laid back atmosphere. The owner of this place has made in such a way that it creates a feel of village feel.
Today, the new grounds were made to be open for loyal customers for a little "doa selamat i.e. a little saying prayers for the new place. It's sort of a custom for Muslims in Malaysia to have a soft launch of a place with saying prayers and asking God to bless the place and evade the place from evil and disasters.
As one of its loyal customer, I came. I made new friends there... other loyal patrons of the place. It was definitely a really nice and cool night.
After saying prayers / doa ( pronounced : dow - aa), it's also a custom to serve the guests that came with food. I had a nice big plate of rice that was cooked with soft tender meat. One patron brought Big Apple Doghnuts; I took some of those in small cut pieces. Also in my list was watermelons and a nice cold syrup cordial drink.
When I was done with my rice plate, I got up to wash my hands. It is a Malaysian thing to eat with hands. It may look a little uncivilized to those who are used to forks, spoons and knives but honestly speaking, being this uncivilized as we are categorized, we get to enjoy the food better. Finger licking good! I know that's a tagline from KFC, but it is true.
I got back to my table and guess what I see. Somehow, Moonay loves to attack sweet dishes. Flitty felt like having the watermelons. Well, at least Flitty is thinking of healthy food. I think I need to bring Moonay to a dietrician or Dr to check on his health. He has not been eating healthy food. *sigh*
Just so you know, they enjoyed the place too. They can't wait for the place to officially open with their fav waffle strawberries and cream.
