petals against the sky

Wanted to take a pic of a line of cherry trees on the road into Dundee but couldn't get to a suitable vantage point without risking being run over! I then drove home the long way and found a shapely dead tree but ended up choosing between two in the garden.
These flowers were bought last week and are a purply colour when looked at from above but looking up with the sky behind I think they take on an almost ethereal quality.
