Bad Signal

As I was waiting for my train in Thornliebank in the evening, I noticed the signal was flickering on and off on both sides, before finally giving out. Almost inevitably came the announcement a few minutes later cancelling the train. I got the bus into town, and passed Central Station just in time to hear an announcement that the lines to East Kilbride and Kilmarnock (and by extension, some lines to Carlisle) were affected by the bizarre behaviour of the signals.
