Freya's Birthday

It was Freya's birthday today. One of the presents we bought her was Allan Ahlberg's 'Please Mrs Butler'. It's a brilliant book of childrens poetry which both Amy and I read when we were younger.

Not sure what's happened with my camera settings, after learning a little (and i mean very little) about aperture i've been using the largest aperture possible for any close up shots like this one, but unfortunately a lot of them seem to be coming out slightly blurred (although i like the soft focus in this one it is more luck than design). I need to read more on this subject.

So for Freya and anyone else out there who enjoyed Allan Ahlberg's poetry as a child;

Please Mrs Butler
This boy Derek Drew
Keeps copying my work, Miss.
What shall I do?

Go and sit in the hall, dear.
Go and sit in the sink.
Take your books on the roof, my lamb.
Do whatever you think.

Please Mrs Butler
This boy Derek Drew
Keeps taking my rubber, Miss.
What shall I do?

Keep it in your hand, dear.
Hide it up your vest.
Swallow it if you like, love.
Do what you think best.

Please Mrs Butler
This boy Derek Drew
Keeps calling me rude names, Miss.
What shall I do?

Lock yourself in the cupboard, dear.
Run away to sea.
Do whatever you can, my flower.
But don't ask me!
