Brockholes Nature Reserve
We ( me, my sister, my niece and her children) made a flying visit to the new nature reserve, near Preston, this afternoon. We simply wanted to look at the place and decide whether it would be somewhere we would like to go during the summer.
There seems to be plenty of land to roam about on but the reserve isn't finished. There were a few construction workers and diggers around. This is the floating village.
It wasn't too good weather-wise, but the children didn't seem to mind the rain shower. They enjoyed collecting and identifying bugs, using the kits bought in the shop.
There is no admission fee but a 4 - 5 hour stay on the car park normally costs £4.00 - it was free today.
