A not so great day today. The fact that the kids didn't get to go to Granny & Grandad meant a long day for C with three very grumpy kids. Work was boring as hell - spent most of the day looking up iPhoneography sites, giving Instamatic another go, trying out "Pudding Camera" (great name, great app if only it didn't crash so much. Had to remove it in the end).

By the time I got home I was frustrated with the bore-out from work and was looking forward to a quiet night, but our eldest had to be taken to one of her friends, so muggins here had to get the shoes on and drive across town at rush-hour to get her there.

It was still quite sunny as we drove on. The early evening sun was starting to go down, bathing the town in a beautiful golden haze. Purely coincidentally, we had the windows down and "Once Around The Block" playing at random in the iPhone.

I don't know if you know that tune (by Badly Drawn Boy) but if you've seen the video it's got yer man driving around in an old banger with the windows down and lighting very much like the one in which we found ourselves at 1835 this evening.

With the car stopped at the lights I took the iPhone, fired up Hipstamatic and {snapped} this image, which I feel captured the mood, the light and the moment the music brought rather well. Not a desperately artistic shot (buildings, roads, cars) but there you go. After all, we cant all be Magnum photographers.
