Red velvet

Today I was offered this red velvet flower that has the orange ribbon on its leaf's end. Years ago I spotted a flower like this in royal blue colour for the first time in a Cretan summer. The gardener told me they name it Veloudaki; velvet flower and here in Holland this flower is called Fluweeltje - I wonder if the English speakers say Velvet Flower
