The tie that binds

The shadow of the pole and our ISDN telephone connection at the top of a neighbour's driveway.

The recent storms have brought down this cable four times in the last six months - hardly a surprise when the wind has topped 170km/h regularly in that time.

Now Telkom (our sole and pathetically hopeless telecomms provider) want to put in a new pole on the edge of our property to try and solve the problem.

Of course, the wind will still howl and the cable still fail - 50m of trenching and underground installation is the best solution, but that is way beyond their comprehension and/or degree of customer care.
