John as Brassens!

There's always a first time! But we passed this goofy thing at the exit from a marvelous exhibition in Paris on Georges Brassens--in my view the best French chanson singer of them all. I can't sing a note, but I doubt Georges would have minded my standing in for him (with his moustache)!

All joking aside, it was wonderful--most of all a little amphitheater at the end where we could watch a complete video of Brassens's 1969 concert at the Bobino in Paris. For his entire career (he died in 1981) he sang accompanied only with his own guitar and a double bass.

A suitable climax to our week's trip to attend my cousin Rosy's Paris wedding.
