Glen Muick

A glorious 9 mile walk today around Glen Muick, in the shadow of Lochnagar. It was an absolutely perfect day weather-wise, and a wonderful walk (aside from a fairly steep rocky patch when I nearly met my end, but that's another story - owww!). Saw a fairly impressive herd of deer, fabulous lunch at the head of the Loch, then magical final stretch which takes you through this stunning forest. All of the fresh spring green, combined with the sunshine dappling through the branches, made it almost like a film set for the Hobbit homes in Lord of the Rings!
