There is more to Glen Shiel than meets the eye

Another beautiful Scottish Glen. It contains the road by which Visitors and inhabitants to and of Skye motor to Inverness, Glasgow and places further afield. But is that all there is to it?

No there is more to this beautiful glen. The river holds the key for in a stretch of it one can find Garnets. Oh they're not large; more like red grit. But fascinating for all of that. We went there on my daughters eighth birthday at about this time of the year and had a wonderful day out.

Yesterday we went there again and searched for that elusive large garnet that one never finds. But it was all good fun and we all enjoyed our day off. We finished up by dining at 'Red Skye'. Yup, a good day!
