Lichen in a Raindrop

For weeks I have puzzled over this tiny lichen suspended from a plastic covered wire. Is it attached to the wire or is it held in place by the spider's web? I'd need to pull it off to find out, but then it would be spoiled. Today it was completely enclosed in a raindrop.
