Boris Bikes

Had a great day cycling around London on "Boris Bikes" - the successful Bike rental system set up by the current Mayor of London Boris Johnson.
We cycled through a sunny London on a relatively quiet Bank Holiday Monday. The last days of the Easter Holidays that have been filled with sunshine, BBQ's and lots of chocolate. The weather has been truly unbelievable in London - ranging from 20-27 degrees in the past week. I feel like it's summer and have already got used to this sock free, sunnies on weather.

We cycled through London and along a traffic free Pall Mall, a total pleasure. On Friday it will be full of thousands of people waiting to see the newly wed Kate and Wills. We dodged the world's press including camera crews from Japan, Canada, America and the UK. So if you see a few Boris Bikes in the back ground as you watch the worlds media this week, it might be us.

The only slight problem with the Boris Bikes is that most people cycle from the outside of London into the central parts so if you try and return your bike to a central docking station sometimes there is no where to dock your bike. This is Blip is in Hyde Park near the serpentine where there were no empty docking stations. So I got my camera out and took a picture of the chunky bikes.

I would highly recommend a cycle and it's pretty cheap too so if you feel like having a green cheap day out - jump on one of these.
