Simnel Cake
I'm a bit of a traditionalist and Easter does require a Simnel Cake - complete with as much marzipan as you can reasonably get away with! We had this as pudding, after the traditional roast leg of lamb (not one of these!) studded with garlic and rosemary, cabbage, carrots, new tatties and red wine gravy. Luckily all the digging, concreting, planting out, grass cutting, stone shifting had been done earlier in the day, as we certainly couldn't move much after dinner!
It's been a lovely day - the sun shone, we got lots done and all is right in our bit of the world! (Apart from the slugs eating the seedlings and baby plants - but you can't have everything!)
The shadow at the top left is of a potato masher . . . !
