Today we went to watch some ants go about their leaf carrying business. Rudy and I were following this guy* and he got overtaken many, many times. He was the slowest ant going and thank goodness there was no opportunity for a wager, because we'd have lost the house. Yes, he had evoked such strong faith in us that we would have bet our bottom dollar. Phew. Close call.


*admittedly, difficult to see, and I am sorry if the blur gives a contradictory impression from the above description: it is not a blur of speed. No, it is the blur of a confident use of the 'macro' function
