A rather relaxed morning, awake later than usual, up even later, a rather pleasant change.

Today was a busy day involving picking up some recently acquired garden toys for the #1 son which I think he will love, trying to carry out another couple of repairs around the house, oh the usual schmusual. Oh and what went wrong with the weather.

I did get a message from this man this afternoon, who I have the utmost respect for. I worked in his extended team, 10 years ago, he taught me a great deal and offered support throughout, then I had the chance to join him, having more or less mirrored his career through three jobs. I worked beside him for 3 years and he was always a joy to work beside. Anyway he was over from Luxembourg for a brief visit so I jumped at the chance to catch up. Several glasses of Isle of Jura later, and after many stories exchanged, we parted company, no doubt to catch up again in a few months.

I owe the guy a lot, I quite literally would not be typing this this out tonight were it not for him. I guess the day when I write the novel of the story of my life, that 8 page pamphlet, he will be one of the central characters.
