Smack Dock

Maybe not technically quite in the Smack Dock, but very close to it. Oh and it isn't a Smack either, which is probably why it's not in there then...

Strolled along the front in Brightlingsea, just as the juniors were finishing their dinghy race - a loud klaxon sounding as every vessel passed the line. The weather came straight from August, and the new marina development had a slight Riviera feel to it - will be nice when they eventually finish it.

Having lived nearby for so long, had I actually forgotten, or did I never know that Brightlingsea is an Historic Cinque Port? I thought they had to be in Kent or Sussex, but no, B is officially a 'limb' of Sandwich, so that seems to allow the official green road sign to say Historic Cinque Port.

There you are, I've said it twice now, so it must be true.

Really lovely afternoon with three of the children tagging along and Emma singing all the way home.
