Indignation
A number of wars have been waged today. To say I'd won any would be.... generous! First there was the sunhat issue. No.2 son actuallly doesn't mind hats (he still sometimes wears his halloween witches hat) but he doesn't like being told what to do. This picture was taken after he defiantly threw his hat into the bushes. We'll call the sun hat issue, 'in process'. Then I went to the opticians and bought one of those straps that go behind your head to keep small childrens' glasses on. They're a little elastic(!) so there's a pinging your glasses onto your own nose effect that no.2 son could live without.... Terrible parent. In my defence, he absolutely won't keep them on, on his own and there's another orthoptist appointment looming. And. He has kept them on LOADS today (but I may be irreparably damaging my relationship with him!) Also.... GRUMPY... not just in a sunhat, elastic pingy glasses sort of way.... in a 'aaaaaggggghhhh no ooooooone understands me, ooooh why will no one feed me, why will no one love me.....' sort of way.... So frustrating, when (aside from the sunhat/pinging) we're playing in the garden/at the park/making Easter baskets ALL DAY! But, they're both in bed now, happily asleep. No one was thrown through any windows and the red wine forecast is looking good! We were planning to be at my in-laws for a customary Easter Egg hunt tomorrow, but a very contagious little nephew has kept us at bay, so we've had a hurried trip to Tesco (scrum of people fighting over the last eggs!) and no.1 son has left a sign for the Easter Bunny to check he knows that we're at home!! We've even left him a carrot :-) :-) OK, the last bit was all me, but once I'd had the thought process, I couldn't not!!!
