Obsolete Polaroid

Now if you take three polaroid pictures of your kids and the polaroids after an hour still look like this, do you think the camera is broke or 8 years passed its use by date is really too much (especially if the film never has been stored as recommended)...

Of course with the news that Polaroid will cease production, I'm getting all nostalgic and got my old Polaroid out, but I need to retry with some fresh film to find out what was really the cause (to be continued...)
