Summer Came Today
Perfect timing too on a day off for us all, gave us a chance to get a good chunk of garden spring cleaning done.
Started with a bit of a 'Christmas Fairy lights' moment though. The power washer (that we've hardly used) that has been lying in the shed all winter refused to light up. Checked the fuse, wiggled it and kicked it a few times and it eventually flickered into life, only to squirt water out of the nozzle in every direction but forwards (plastic's all corroded). Unplugged it and got a small electric shock off the plug, so it's now in the pile waiting for a trip to the skip.
So it was back to a good old unpowered hose to scrub down everything. A lot less decibels and a bit more elbow grease but the jobs were all finished in time for a first barbecue. Temperature had dropped a bit by the time we all sat down to eat it but, being hardy and determined Scottish folk, the fact that we could see our breaths by then didn't discourage us and cardigans and dressing gowns were drafted in so as we could finish what we'd started. I didn't put any ice in my pear cider though, think that may have dropped my core temperature to dangerous levels.
Kontentedly knackered now.
