R.I.P. Beetle

I was watering the garden earlier this evening and spotted this little fellow along with far too many of his friends. He is a Lily Beetle and they can decimate lilies in a very short space of time (if you look to the left of this shot you can see signs of damage on one of the leaves).

Cruel though it may seem, I have now sprayed all my lilies with insecticide to kill the little blighters, so am hoping for a good floral display in a few weeks time. As I have quite a few species in the garden, I'm certain that they will feature in future blips.
