Headaches and Heartache

I am very sad to report that my family had to put down one of my kitties this evening. This is Hydra (don't make fun of the name..she came with that name, and my sister refused to change it). She had to be one of the sweetest, most docile cats I've ever met and she has been a dear friend for the majority of my life. We got her when I was in third grade or so, so she has had a full life of about 13 years. I couldn't believe it when I figured that out...time goes by so quickly and we take it for granted. She was a great source of comfort; just this past Christmas break she slept with me every single night. It was like she knew that I needed her there. I wish I had gotten to say goodbye...but I'm sure it's a blessing in disguise in some ways. There is perhaps nothing more painful in life than seeing someone you love suffer. I'm glad that at least she isn't in pain anymore. I'll miss her dearly :'(
