A Night Unexpected

An acquaintance of mine was away tonight and missed his weekly open mic night. He asked me to engineer the night, and someone else to host it. I was pleasantly suprised with how it went.

The landlady quietly informed me that it was the busiest night they'd had on a Thursday since she took over, and the wealth of performers that showed up was amazing. My personal highlight was this Japanese fellow, who played a mean electric violin! His guitarist friend and he were joined by the night's host.

My only complaint was that when doing a job for half my usual fee, I expect to get paid promptly. Eh, minor issue. At least I got paid, and had an amazing night!
