Boat-tailed Grackle

I love watching these little show offs at this time of year; this guy was courting two females, fairly indiscriminately, and the antics he got up to were comic. The ladies were far too busy looking under leaves for a meal, so at one point he went off and came back with a crust of bread; works better with lady grackles than roses it seems. The females are a pretty light brown, and the males only show this marvellous blue iridescence when the sun catches them.
