Handa Island - Scottish wildlife trust
Wonderful afternoon spent on this Island. Apart from the excitement of crossing on a RIB instead of the usual ferry we learned so much about the birds. As well as the seabird colonies there were Great Skuas across the hinterland displaying loudly to proclaim their territory.
On the cliffs here you can just see nesting Fulmers (we saw Kittiwakes in the previous cove) and on the Great Stack you can see Guillemots.
A wonderful afternoon and 4 mile walk around the island, sadly too early for Puffins.
The only problem was low tide which meant we had to wait for our return to the mainland.
