Lewis Chessman

One of the 30 Lewis Chessmen currently on display at Stornoway's Museum of the Isles, until 12 September this year. The 91 pieces were found in the dunes at Uig Sands in 1831, and have been kept in various locations across the UK. They are now back in Lewis for five months, and for one day in a location near the place where they were first found.
