Fields of Coal...
A rare chance to escape the lab at work today - I got suited and booted and off I went down to the coal plant to have a good look at the coal samplers down there for the coal coming into the power station by road and rail.
This is one of numerous coal bings - the expanse of coal is so vast that it just looks like rolling hills and fields of pure black.
From the point at which I was standing to take this photo, it's about a mile to the station - apparently you can walk the length of the coal conveyors all the way from here back to the station, but considering it's inside a tunnel it might be a bit of a boring walk! Think I'd rather just take the road, thanks!
