dont leave me behind!

this old chap and his dog often go
walking up the lane after parking up
just opposite my workshop. come
rain or shine.

the other day i heard his car door
clunk shut and the engine start and
then the manic barking of his dog.
i popped my head out of my shed
door and could see the puzzled look
on the old chaps face. it then dawned
on him that he forgot to pop his dog
in the back and his dog was reminding
him. """dont leave me behind""" lol.

they seem as old as each other and
obviously have been together a long
time. i could well imagine that when
either one pops his clogs the other
will shortly follow..
