Doon Hill
Nice day so took a walk to Doon Hill.
The Reverend Robert Kirk of Aberfoyle had a facination and belief in Fairies. He would walk daily from the manse to Doon Hill. One day in May 1692 he did not return. Legend says that the fairies, angry that he had disclosed their secrets, took him to the underground world of the fairies. The pine tree that still exists at the summit of Doon Hill is said to contain his imprisoned spirit.
People tie prayer ribbons to the tree and leave gifts for the fairies.
