This tree is history

Sadly, this 120-140 year old Maple tree was cut down last month. It was was perfectly healthy and was to be designated a heritage tree by the town, but the councillors caved-in to the landowner who wants, allegedly, to build condos. Just what this dumbass town needs, more crappy condos. This tree may have been the oldest in town and is was right at the crossroads. The stories it could tell. Linda thinks the landlord just wanted to cut it down because some idiot insurance company told them to (the tree is in the parking lot of a liquidation store, formerly a grocery store). Maybe she's right. I cannot wait to leave Aurora. I detest its small-mindedness, lack of vision, and sycophantic relationship with "developers" and their ilk. A pox on them all.
