A royal wedding beckons!!

Mrs W and I spent our 13th anniversary walking around London, visiting some old haunts from the days when she used to commute (I still do) to see how they'd changed, and visiting some new haunts, including a trip out to Stratford via the London Overground line to see the Olympic Park.

Additionally, while walking around, we kept to the back streets rather than the tourist routes as you usually come across places that you have never heard about far less seen. On our way from the west side of Oxford Street to Coventry Street (between Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square) we incorporated Savile Row into our route and came across this gentleman in the basement workshop of Henry Poole & Co (Court and Livery Department).

I had a hunch from the department title what he was up to but on returning home and investigating through the power of t'Internet, I have established from their website that, since making Liveries for H M Queen Victoria and receiving a Royal Warrant in 1869, Henry Poole has had a livery department, making garments for coachmen, footmen, chauffeurs, etc.

With the Royal Wedding coming up, it is no wonder he was working overtime; it was 6:55pm at the time and everything else was closed.
