Helvellyn

It was one of my father in laws wishes that his ashes be scattered at the top of Helvellyn overlooking Striding Edge.

My husband, my sister in law and a couple of others set out today to follow his wishes (I was mother in law/children sitting)

Thankfully the weather, although not brilliant, was good enough to let them make the ascent and they all managed it too, despite being of varied levels of fitness.

I can't say that this is the cairn they built for his final resting place, theirs was apparently more modest and they didn't take any photos of it, but to me this will signify what they achieved.
