The long wait

Eve was taken into the operating theatre just in time. The surgeon reckoned another hour or two and her appendix would have burst. Her Mum was with her through the night and was sat by the window, waiting for news and texting relatives with updates, when I arrived at the hospital.

After a three hour operation Eve was back in the room and hooked up to a morphine drip. Very groggy but I did get a smile and a kiss.

As usual the staff at Sick Kids never fail to impress with their upbeat attitude, dedication and skill. A bit like Mrs Smith really.
